More than a year ago I decided that I should go to Hawaii. It seemed like the perfect way to use my frequent flier miles on Delta and I knew I had a cousin whose family lived on Oahu. First I planned it for March, in fact I paid an extra $50 because I made the reservations less than 3 weeks in advance. Things got busy at work and I had to reschedule. The next time I could get was November, a little further than I had planned, but oh well. Another $100 for the change. BY the time November came around I wasn't going to let anything get in the way.
The week before I went I was debated with myself spending time on one of the other islands, specifically Kauai. I'd heard the scenery was beautiful, but decided that by the time I paid for the flight over and transportation I could save a lot by sticking to Oahu, which I think was a good decision. Since my cousin was already booked with other company for Wednesday and Thursday nights I decided to just get a hotel on the south side of the Oahu, near Honolulu.
