Sky Diving

If you have never tried skydiving I highly reccomend it. It is lots of fun and not nearly as scarry as you might think. First of all, if you like rollercoasters those are probably better at taking your breath away than jumping out of a plane. There isn't as much of a feeling of free fall from a plane. You are already moving forward fairly fast (because the plane is moving) and the only acceleration is changing direction from forward to down and you hit terminal velocity very quick. It is kind of disorienting at first when you jump out and until you are stable in the wind.

I was too cheap to order the video on my first jump. I'll probably do that the next time I jump. You will notice that I don't have any photos to prove I actually went. You will have to trust me. :-)

Erin is the friend I went with. She had gone once before and wanted to do it again, but didn't want to go alone, so I was easy to talk into it. We went to Orange, Virginia for the jump. We were scheduled for the late jump group, but basically it was first come first jump. There was also a shortage of employees the day we went, so we waited a long time, about 4 hours, before jumping. Basically it was an all day activity. By the time it was our turn I was worn out, but the excitement woke me up. As soon as I was on the ground I wanted to do it again some time. It's too bad it is so expensive. It would be a fun hobby.
