The sonogram right before Thanksgiving revealed the exciting news. We are having a boy.
First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes ...

Karen and I are thrilled to announce our approaching parenthood! She is due in April 2009. She in this case means Karen, we won't get gender confirmation until the next sonogram in a couple more months.
It is so cute to look at the sonogram pictures. It is also amazing to realize the baby has a little beating heart and arms and legs. The doctor needed to get the baby to wiggle so he kept pressing on Karen's abdomen. At one point the baby coughed and wiggled. It was adorable!
In some of the sonogram photos the baby looks like quite a little alien. The effect was due to the dark spots on the head, but it was still funny. The cute little legs were my favorite.
Moving to a new house
Mon Mar 3 22:35:38 EST 2008
After months of casually searching, we finally found the perfect house! We are swamped with administrative details as we prepare to move. (Nobody really likes moving do they.) We close at the end of March and move in at the end of April, so the next couple months will be busy. Eventually we will have some pictures.
If you noticed that I didn't put up any wedding photos never fear, they'll soon be here. Keeping up on my webpage hasn't been the top of my priorities since we got married. I didn't send out Christmas cards either. Christmas 2006 I skipped cards because I was about to get engaged and couldn't really say so in a Christmas card. Christmas 2007 was just busy. Richard and Nancy Kowallis (parents) came to Virginia for the holidays which was lots of fun, but yet another reason not to sit down and type up a letter. Things are going well. More info will come.
The next post will include some wedding photos. I promise.
Our Happy Anniversary!

Its been a wonderful year! Somewhere around here I have a CD of photos taken by Karen's mom at the wedding. Once I find it I'll put up some wedding pictures, but in the meantime we are celebrating our anniversary.
We pulled the wedding cake out of the freezer to thaw. It tasted good considering it has been frozen so long, although it was certainly better when it was fresh. Once we had eaten some we had to decide what to do with the leftovers. We took a video of our activities. Its a year late, but I think it was much more fun this way. If I can figure out how to embed the video on this page I'll jazz it up.
This is the culmination of a great first year. In a few weeks we'll be in our our new house.
